An architectural landmark
EDGE East Side Berlin is one of Germany's healthiest high-rise buildings. Centrally located, within meters of the Warschauer Straße metro station, and connecting two of Berlin’s most vibrant and artistic suburbs: Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg.
Built with the careful and conscientious application of leading sustainability practices, from the use of circular products and VOC-free materials to world-class energy management, EDGE East Side is a game changer.
The 142 m high building with over 65,000 m2 of office space will be a landmark in the Berlin skyline. The building is serviced by 14 elevators, including eight innovative double-deck elevators by KONE.
These first KONE double-deck elevators in the DACH region can reach a speed of 21.6 km/h – so it takes 20.6 seconds to reach the rooftop from the ground floor.
The innovative and open architecture, designed by the world-renowned firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), blends contemporary urban requirements and natural elements to create airy spaces that energize and replenish, inviting visitors and pedestrians to enter.
EDGE East Side is part of a new wave of intelligent, healthy buildings that embrace the idea that offices should not only serve a function, but also be part of the communities that surround them.
